AWA Policy

Refund / Cancellation Policy

AWA dues, donations, and event refund framework.

Refund / Cancellation Policy

Effective: September 4, 2026. Last updated: September 29, 2026.

This policy explains how AWA handles membership dues, contributions, and event payments. The checkout page for a transaction will state the amount, purpose, and recurring terms, if any, before payment.

Membership dues

AWA membership dues are billed on the recurring schedule and at the amount displayed at checkout. Members may cancel future renewal through available Stripe customer-management tools or by contacting AWA. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. Properly processed membership dues are generally nonrefundable and are not prorated for a partial membership period. AWA will review requests involving duplicate charges, processing errors, fraud, a charge contrary to the published checkout terms, another circumstance AWA determines warrants a refund, or another refund required by applicable law. Cancellation does not reassign a properly issued permanent member number or Founding Member designation to another person.

Contributions and donations

Voluntary contributions are generally intended to support AWA's mission and may be nonrefundable after processing except for duplicate charges, processing errors, fraud, or another circumstance AWA determines warrants a refund. Any tax treatment displayed at checkout must reflect AWA's actual status and the payment's nature at that time.

Events

Event tickets may have event-specific cancellation deadlines, transfer rules, or nonrefundable costs. Those terms should be shown before purchase. If AWA cancels an event, AWA will state the available remedy for affected ticket holders.

Physical membership materials

Physical cards, patches, and decals are generally produced in coordinated fulfillment groups. Timing of physical delivery does not delay the effective date of an otherwise valid membership. Personalized or produced materials may not be returnable except for manufacturing error, damage, or another remedy required by law.

How to request help

Email [email protected] with your name, transaction date, amount, and enough information to locate the transaction. Do not email full payment-card numbers.
