Donor Privacy Policy
Effective: September 4, 2026. Last updated: September 20, 2026.
AWA values the trust of people who provide financial support. This policy supplements the general Privacy Policy.
Our commitment
AWA does not sell, rent, trade, or exchange its donor or member lists with other organizations for marketing purposes.
Information we may maintain
AWA may maintain a donor's name, contact information, contribution amount and date, payment purpose, processor reference, communication preferences, acknowledgment history, and information required for accounting, compliance, fraud prevention, and tax records. AWA does not intend to store raw credit-card numbers or card security codes.
When information may be disclosed
AWA may disclose information to payment processors, banks, accountants, auditors, legal advisers, technology providers, mailing or acknowledgment vendors, regulators, or other service providers and authorities when reasonably necessary to process or administer a contribution, comply with law, protect against fraud, or operate AWA. Service-provider access should be limited to the function being performed.
Recognition and anonymity
AWA should not publicly identify a donor by name merely because the person donated unless the donor has agreed to recognition or disclosure is otherwise required by law. Donors may ask AWA to avoid public recognition, subject to legal reporting obligations that AWA cannot waive.
Business & Industry Partners and member benefits
A Business & Industry Partner or benefits partner does not receive an unrestricted donor or member list as consideration for supporting AWA. When AWA communicates a partner offer, AWA may deliver the communication itself or use a service provider acting on AWA's behalf.
