Privacy Policy
Effective: September 4, 2026. Last updated: September 29, 2026.
America's Workforce Alliance, Inc. ("AWA," "we," "us," or "our") respects the privacy of members, supporters, donors, visitors, volunteers, partners, and people who communicate with us. This policy explains the categories of information we may collect, why we use it, when we disclose it, and the choices available to you.
Information we may collect
- Identity and contact information such as name, email, phone number, and mailing address.
- Membership information such as join date, membership status, member number, referral source, chapter, membership tier, fulfillment status, communication choices, and activity history.
- Workforce information such as current status, sector, occupation, career background for retirees, years in the workforce, optional employer information, and employment-focused essential-worker history.
- Transaction records such as amount, date, payment purpose, processor reference, refund status, and receipt information. AWA does not intend to store raw card numbers or card security codes.
- Website and device information such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring page, approximate location derived from IP, security events, and cookie or analytics identifiers when those tools are enabled.
- Referral attribution information, including an opaque referral code stored in first-party browser storage when you arrive through a member referral link.
- Communications you send to AWA, survey responses, action participation, volunteer information, and partnership inquiries.
Why we use information
We may use information to establish and service membership, issue member numbers and digital membership credentials, administer referrals, communicate with you, process transactions, prevent fraud and abuse, fulfill physical membership materials, understand the workforce AWA represents, conduct surveys and advocacy, administer chapters and events, improve the website, comply with law, maintain records, and protect AWA and its users.
Service providers and processors
AWA may disclose information to vendors and service providers that perform functions on our behalf, including Cloudflare for website delivery, security, server-side application functions, and membership database services; Stripe for secure payment processing when enrollment is open; Resend for transactional email, including membership messages and partner access links; Twilio, when configured, for internal partner-request SMS alerts to AWA; and providers used for analytics, printing, mailing, customer support, accounting, and professional services as those services are used. We seek to limit disclosure to information reasonably necessary for the service.
No sale or list swapping
AWA does not sell, rent, trade, or exchange its member or donor lists with other organizations for marketing purposes. AWA may communicate a partner benefit to members itself or use a service provider acting on AWA's behalf rather than handing a sponsor an unrestricted member list.
Cookies and tracking
AWA may use essential cookies and, when enabled, limited analytics or similar technologies. See the Cookie / Tracking Notice for details and available controls. We do not promise that every browser-based "Do Not Track" signal will be technically recognized unless applicable law requires it or our tools support it.
Retention and security
AWA retains information for as long as reasonably necessary for membership administration, legal obligations, transaction records, fraud prevention, organizational history, dispute resolution, and other legitimate operational purposes. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may unsubscribe from optional marketing or advocacy communications using available unsubscribe tools or by contacting AWA. Transactional or administrative messages may still be sent when necessary to service a membership or transaction. You may request correction of inaccurate member contact information. Additional rights may apply depending on your state or other applicable law.
Children
This website and AWA membership are not directed to children under 13. AWA does not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children under 13 through this site.
Policy changes
We may update this policy as AWA's systems, vendors, programs, and legal obligations evolve. The effective and last-updated dates will be revised when material changes are published.
